Wellness Therapy Clinic

My passion for Manual Lymphatic Drainage initiated while I was a volunteer in the hospice. Observing patient that suffered cancer, undergone treatment had now developed Lymphoedema a lifelong condition. I desired to gain knowledge of the lymphatic system and Lymphoedema to be able to comprehend and help patients manage their lifelong condition. Determination and passion preceded me back to college and commencing my journey qualifying as Lymphoedema Therapist with a post-graduate training in the Dr Vodder technique in 2019.

I am proud to offer the Vodder technique at Wellness Therapy Clinic where I provide my patients with the best possible experience from their first consultation through their healing process.  Wellness Therapy Clinic is registered with all major healthcare providers.

Siobhan was delighted to have had the extraordinary opportunity to attend St. George’s Hospital and be a part of Professor Mortimer’s diagnostic clinic. This experience has truly been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that she will forever cherish.

Throughout her time in the UK, she was fortunate enough to witness groundbreaking medical procedures at Oxford Lymphoedema Practice.  One of the standout moments at Oxford Lymphoedema Practice was when she had the privilege to scrub into theatre and observe LVA Lymphovenous anastomosis surgery. This intricate procedure, led by Professor Dominic Furnis and Mr. Sinclair Gore at the Oxford Lymphoedema Practice, provided her with invaluable insights into the world of surgical innovation. Witnessing their expertise and dedication firsthand was awe-inspiring and left a lasting impression.

Additionally, she had the privilege of attending the afternoon clinic with Mr. Alex Ramsden and Mr. Sinclair Gore, where she witnessed patient consultations and observed the performance of ICG Lymphography. This experience allowed Siobhan to witness the compassionate and patient-centered approach that these remarkable professionals bring to their practice. It was a testament to their commitment to improving the lives of individuals living with lymphatic conditions.

Siobhan is sincerely grateful for having had this incredible opportunity.

Lymphoedema

Lymphedema is a swelling of a body part caused by an accumulation of protein‑rich fluid, called lymph, in the tissue spaces.  It occurs most frequently in the limbs, but can present in the breast, head, neck, abdomen, and genitalia.  Even though lymphoedema is a chronic condition and there is no cure, with the appropriate treatment the swelling can be reduced, and a suitable maintenance programme can keep it under control.

Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is part of the body’s immune system and consists of a network of tissues, vessels and organs that work together to move a colourless, watery fluid called lymph back into your circulatory system (your bloodstream).  Some 20 litres of plasma flow through your body’s arteries and smaller arteriole blood vessels and capillaries every day.
